Have you ever thought about mortality?
For many people, this can be a morbid subject. Let's veer away from that kind of thinking in this article.
As I was shifting some books in the Library this week, I came across Jane Austen, Charles Dickens and the Bronte Sisters (Charlotte and Emily) to name a few. It dawned on me on how immortal their works are.
Many generations have enjoyed their literary masterpieces. Their works are part of ours, our children's and the future students' English classes; understanding the stories, their messages and the learnings we can derive from the novel itself.
Aside from the above-mentioned, there are so many other literary geniuses (too many to mention lest I forget that an avid fan and reader may get upset if I don't) whose works have been immortalized by their published books as well.
Again, as I shifted the books, I was impressed with how a person can become immortal, in the literary sense of the way (of course, there are many other ways, no doubt about it, such as inventions, music, et al but let us focus on my time of reflection, which created this article). How people became famous with their works, encompassing their time to even be learned by new generations? How the "younger" generations are able to understand the past through the creative minds of these revered writers? That the human body passes and leaves the realm of the world but not the good (or bad) works that can be passed on from one era to the next, and more.
It sure is a great way to leave one's legacy: an act which most people admire and will remember as inspiring. There are many ways to become famous and "immortal" in our human history, and hopefully, each one decides to do it in a humane and positive manner worthy of emulation and inspiration for the betterment of our people.

Amazing Performance
Adorable!
What a cute way to make my day!
Doing my usual rounds of reading the news, I came about an article on Yahoo that just caught my interest. The child "sang" along with the man, using her own "baby googoo and gaga."
As I watched this young performer holding up her own with the veteran, I could not help but smile, laugh and cry at the same time. Such pure innocence and genuine gift!
To be fair, the older singer is awesome himself! I just had to share and hope this brightens your day, too.
I recommend to read:

Do You Blog?
Why do you blog?
Is it to share your thoughts? To help people with information? To journal events in your life? To fulfill your creative urge to write? To showcase what's important to you?
People will have their own reason(s) to start a blog and maintain it. For whatever reason this may be, all blogs will have one major component: information. This information may impart something good or bad to its readers depending on the objective of the author or how the readers decode the message. Unless an author is eloquent in conveying a message, many interpretations may come out of an article. A reader's background, education and perception will also influence how the information in an article will be understood by it's audience.
In essence, both writer and reader must be aware of each other to ensure that the correct message is conveyed. With this said, even if the grammar is not perfect, at least the spelling of the actual word in mind must be correct to relay the thought(s) behind the writing(s).
However, writing is not always easy to many people. The challenge is how to impart what you want in a way your audience understands what you need them to. It would be a good practice to read, re-read, edit, proofread and put yourself in the shoes of your reader who sees your article for the first time. Think like him or her; remember that you have to pretend that you are not in the know of the details being relayed until your read the article. Ask the question, "Do I get the objective(s) and/or understand this post?" If you have the chance to have someone else read it first without providing any backgrounder on your article, the better. Be open to constructive criticism.
I am sharing this as a writer. I may be new as a blogger but I believe that the essentials and techniques in writing remain the same. One vital reminder though: writing is a responsibility as it may influence thoughts and actions.
As I continue with this new outlet of thought-sharing, I know I will learn more about how to be better and more effective. I will strive to share what I have learned again someday...somehow.

I Am Back!
Well, hopefully for good.
Yeah, I know. I have not posted for so long. A blog with a single entry. To think that after a year's contemplation, I finally decide to create a blog, but never followed through. Till now.
I have always had so many thoughts and ideas that I want to share. The only thing is, they come to me when I do not have a pen and paper around. I try to remember the subject and the whole "article" in my mind "eloquently" ready to be written. But when the time comes, the idea has passed. Like a dream, it becomes a blur the next time you try to recall the thought.
Recently, I have not been using my personal computer as often. Since getting unlimited data on my new Android phone, which means anytime access to the net and social media plus the whole-day-in-front-of-the-computer-at-work-daily-routine can make one get quite lazy to again tap the keyboard and surf the web. I know you know what I mean.
Okay, I am blabbering. To get to the point of this post, if there is actually any. Hmmm...let me think.
It is 1:51 am and I am still not asleep (obviously). Nope, I am not counting any bedroom sheeps nor am I reflecting. I am just trying to finish some personal project for a recent family event. I decided to take a few minutes off and update this blog.
To be honest, I again have been contemplating for the past couple of weeks. Yeah so many ideas and thoughts. Like the field of dreams, they keep coming. The challenge is getting them into an article. I have got to find a way. And I know I will.

The Thought That Nudged Me
I have been contemplating on writing a blog for around a year now. Previously, it was not an idea I would entertain. I did not want to open myself to a very public forum.
However, last night as I laid in bed, the thought again nudged me. Hmmm...why not? I have always liked to express myself in words, either verbal or written. I used to keep a diary; I share what I can in a forum; I am a "non-practicing" writer; I actively stay in touch on FB; then, maybe it's about time I expand my world to a generation of blogsters.
I finally set this up on this year's Good Friday, one best time to look back, reflect and move forward.
Bedroom Sheeps.
When I can't sleep, I don't count sheeps. I reflect, contemplate, discover and search. I find my creativity at a high level at this time (aside from riding a public transit, which I will try to expound on another day).
My blog will hopefully share inspiring insights that come to me at anytime. I guess this will really be a good exercise to keep that idea and see what good I can impart, rather than just letting it pass because "it's just one of those."
Well, my blog world may not only contain thoughts that come as I lay on my bed, or when I am in a moving vehicle, or while I'm bonding with family, doing stuff with friends, or simply conversing with others, but anything that strikes me.
Here's hoping this will be a cozy bedroom of sheeps for me and anyone who cares to read it.
